JavaFX - Developing Rich Internet Applications

Nasa Image Browser

This is a JavaFX Applet that may be dragged off the Web page and onto the Desktop. To drag it off the page, click on the top border and drag it anywhere onto the desktop. Once you drag it off the page, a button will appear at the top right corner of the Window. To re-dock it back to the web page, depress this button.

To be able to drag the applet off the page, you need Java SE Version 6 update 10 or later. Thus far, if you are using MacOS, you cannot use this feature yet.

This example also demonstrates interaction with the JavaFX Applet and JavaScript on the Web page. You can set the current picture from the web page by entering the picture index into the "Current Picture Index" field, then hitting the "Set Current" button.

The "Number of pictures" html readonly field is updated in real time from the JavaFX Applet.
